Inver Energy Hosts Minister of State James Lawless TD at Foynes Terminal

On Tuesday, Inver Energy welcomed James Lawless TD, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, to their jointly-owned Terminal in Foynes, where Inver manages the importation, blending and distribution of fuels across Ireland, including the renewable diesel HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil).

During the visit, Daniel Fitzpatrick, Inver’s Commercial Director, alongside Brandon McMahon, Safety Officer at AFSC, provided Minister Lawless with a tour of the facilities and discussed the role of biofuels like HVI in achieving Ireland’s decarbonisation efforts.

Minister Lawless met some of Inver’s dedicated drivers, including Sinead Lucey, who is part of the Transport Operations & Commercial Driving Apprenticeship programme. Sinead recently successfully completed her training for rigid vehicles and will soon progress towards driving articulated trucks.

This visit follows the publication of the recent report “Decarbonising the Road Freight Sector Ireland,” developed by FTA Ireland in collaboration with Inver Energy and other industry leaders. This report highlights the importance of combined efforts between industry and government in offering solutions aimed at reducing carbon emissions.
