ESB has opened its latest charging hubs in Co. Cork at two forecourts, Inver Charleville and Inver Macroom. The forecourts are situated off the N20 and N22, respectively, providing easy access and increased convenience for drivers.

Inver Charleville has both a high-power charger and a fast charger, enabling three cars to charge simultaneously. Inver Macroom has two high-power chargers available, capable of charging four cars simultaneously. The high-power chargers can provide up to 100 km of charge in as little as six minutes.

In June, ESB announced prices decrease across its public EV charging network in the Republic of Ireland, which saw unit rates for high-power chargers reduce by 13%, fast chargers reduce by 12% and standard chargers reduce by 8%. Contactless payment was also introduced on all high-power chargers making the charging experience as seamless as possible for drivers.

Welcoming this announcement, Francis O’Donnell, Head of eMobility at ESB, said: “At ESB, we know that it is essential that convenient EV charging options are available while on the move. That’s why we’re constantly improving and expanding our countrywide network and committed to ensuring our network is always ready when drivers need it, making the switch to electric vehicles as smooth as possible.”
